Project Engineer Robert Chase is the first author of a recently published paper in Seismological Research Letters, titled Earthquake Scenarios for Quito, Ecuador; Cali, Colombia; and Santiago De Los Caballeros, Dominican Republic. The paper summarizes work Rob completed working on the Training and Communication for Earthquake Risk Assessment (TREQ) project (https://www.globalquakemodel.org/proj/treq) during his time at the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) alongside the Global Earthquake Model (GEM) Foundation and other partners. Specifically, the paper describes earthquake scenarios and their impacts developed for the purposes of emergency management planning and risk mitigation in Quito, Cali, and Santiago De Los Caballeros.
