Earthquake scenario development in conjunction with the 2023 USGS National Seismic Hazard Model

Project Engineer Robert Chase is the first author of a recently published paper in Earthquake Spectra, titled Earthquake scenario development in conjunction with the 2023 USGS National Seismic Hazard Model. The paper summarizes work Rob completed while working on the 2023 National Seismic Hazard Model (NSHM) during his time at the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). Specifically, the paper describes earthquake scenarios and their estimated impacts developed to be released alongside the 2023 NSHM. LCI’s Ivan Wong also assisted greatly with this work serving as a reviewer for Earthquake Spectra and as a working group member to advise in the development of the Salt Lake City scenarios.
