Amanda Syamsul, MS
Staff Seismologist
– Marine geophysics
– Climate-induced seismicity
– Sea level modeling
Mrs. Syamsul joined LCI in 2026 with a background in marine geophysics, seismology, and crustal deformation. Her graduate research used ocean-bottom measurements of internal gravity waves in the South China Sea to characterize ocean stratification, while her prior work focused on surface load and glacially-induced seismicity. She previously worked at the Pacific Northwest Seismic Network and the National Geophysical Facility, EarthScope Consortium, on geophysical science communication through illustrations and writing.
