Danika Mayback
Staff Geologist
Ms. Mayback joined LCI in 2025 with a background in rock mechanics, landslide hazards, and geologic mapping. Her graduate research involved analyzing the relationship between dynamic rock friction and slope instability for the ancient Marysvale Gravity Slide Complex, Utah. Her work combines both field observations and experimental data to better inform numerical models and analyze the conditions required to initiate catastrophic slope failure. She also has experience in geochronology dating detrital zircons to determine provenance in basal landslide material.
