Rick Ortiz, Principal Geologist and West Sacramento Office Manager, was nominated and elected to the GSA Council. The vote was put forth to all 22,000 members of GSA. He, and his fellow incoming Councilors were confirmed by the GSA Executive Committee at the Spring 2022 GSA Council meeting and will start a four-year volunteer term in July 2022. The GSA Council is the management board of the Society and is responsible for the “management of the affairs and the property of the Society.” Rick is looking forward to a more active engagement with GSA and his fellow members over the course of his term and thanks everyone who supported him in this endeavor.
